Adult Tennis Clinic — All Levels Welcome
Small group coaching for adults who want to learn, improve, and play consistently — in a structured, friendly environment.
Whether you’ve never held a racquet, used to play years ago and want to get back into it, or you’re a regular player looking to sharpen your technique, the Thursday evening clinic at Mutch Park is designed for you.
Each session runs for 90 minutes and is led by a qualified Tennis Australia accredited coach. Sessions are kept in small groups, so your coach can give individual attention to every player rather than running a general drill rotation.
This program is for adults who want to:
✔ Pick up tennis as a new sport or hobby in a welcoming, non-intimidating environment
✔ Meet other people in the Pagewood, Maroubra, and Kingsford area who enjoy sport
✔ Improve their technique with structured coaching rather than just hitting around
✔ Find a regular weekly activity that’s both physically active and genuinely social
You don’t need to own a racquet. You don’t need a partner. And you don’t need to arrive already fit or coordinated. The clinic is built to welcome complete beginners and experienced players alike.
What Is the Adult Tennis Clinic — and Who Is It For?
The Adult Tennis Clinic is a coached group program where a small number of adults share court time under the guidance of a qualified Tennis Australia coach.
It sits between a private lesson (just you and a coach) and casual social play — giving you structured coaching and real skill development in a group setting that is more social and more affordable than one-on-one sessions.
At Mutch Park, each session runs for 90 minutes and covers all strokes, corrections, technique, and court tactics. Singles and doubles practice are both incorporated so you can develop your game in the formats that matter to real play.
The session is organised, progressive, and repeatable, meaning you can return each week and build on what you learned in previous sessions rather than starting from scratch every time.
It is designed for adults who are:
✔ Complete beginners who want a proper introduction to the sport
✔ Returning players who played socially or at school and want to get back on court
✔ Intermediate players who want to play more consistently and understand the game better
✔ Adults looking for a regular activity that combines exercise, skill-building, and social connection
What Our Players Say
Mutch Park Tennis is better when it’s shared. Here’s what our local community has to say about their experience on and off the court.
Why Adult Tennis at Mutch Park Works
Small groups mean real, individual feedback.
With a small number of adults per session, your coach isn’t just feeding balls down the middle. They’re watching your grip, correcting your footwork, and giving you specific feedback every session — not just general group tips. All strokes and tactics are covered every session.
The clinic isn’t split by stroke or skill type. Each 90-minute session works through all areas of the game — groundstrokes, volleys, serves, and the tactical decision-making that connects them in real match situations.Singles and doubles are both part of the program.
Practice drills and match-like scenarios cover both formats, helping you develop the skills that apply whether you’re playing with one partner or in singles competition. It builds into a real community.
Many adults who start in the Thursday evening clinic go on to join Social Tennis or the Adult Night Competition. There’s always a natural next step — and familiar faces along the way. This isn’t a drop-in class; it’s a consistent weekly group that helps players improve while building connections with other members. The facility is properly set up for adult tennis.
Mutch Park is managed by Sydney Sports Management Group (SSMG) in partnership with Bayside Council — a dedicated community sports venue with well-maintained outdoor courts in the green space area of Pagewood. Your tennis is being played at a quality facility backed by a long-term commitment to community sport and player development.
